My wife and I wanted to start a business that would allow us to give something positive back to the community / to Atlanta within the actual service. There is no better way than being able to bring smiles, fun, and excitement to your doorstep.
Last 2 years have been difficult for the company. In 2020 my wife Karla Parham-Jones caught covid, and was in a coma for 60 days. She servived it and bounced back. We thought we had cleared that obstacle, and things were getting back to normal. Suddenly on October 31 2021 almost a year later my wife passed away due to long term effects of covid which caused lung and heart complications. It was devastating and our lives are forever changed. She was and still is the driving force of Dappers Game Zone Atlanta. She was deeply loved in the community. She brought joy and touched the hearts of many people. She had an amazing mind. She was an entrepreneur by heart. Together we was the ultimate team. Our creative process would often be spontaneous. and our positive energy fed each others creativity.
To me business is a art form. You have to learn so many different aspect of it. In the beginning you are learning how to wear so many hats, so that it runs properly. Eventually the things you learn and are constantly learning are expressed by you in your unique way.
What we have been through is devastating. We can never truly bounce back, because to say we bounces back is to say we went back to what was normal. Nothing will ever be normal without Karla. So here we are at a new normal, or trying to reach a type of normal without her. Striving to keep her dreams, ambitions, and legacy going through Dappers Game Zone Atlanta. We want to be different always, and constantly bringing smiles and love like Karla naturally…
Some of my favorite spots in the city… Wow there is so much to do in Atlanta…Personally the first thing I would do is plan a family and friends cook out at the house. Set up Dappers Game Zone Atlanta lasertag in the backyard, and let everyone just have fun, including the neighbors!
I first want to shout out my wife Karla Parham Jones. She is deeply missed, and we are working hard to keep her dream and legacy going. Also, would like to thank Duane Parham of Dappers Game Zone Chicago for believing and providing support in the Atlanta crew.
Feature Story On Shoutout Atlanta
Karla worked closely in the community. It was her passion to assist those in need, especially kids. She would often say we must ensure the kids are cared for, watched over, and nurtured. She worked hard and diligently assisting the YMCA with creating and maintaining programs for the community.
Karla was extremely creative and intelligent. She was an entrepreneur at heart. When her Uncle Duane Parham approached her with the opportunity to establish Dappers Game Zone Atlanta, she thought it was the perfect idea / business. She adored her uncle and was grateful for the opportunity. She hit the ground running with establishing the company.
In 2021 Karla Parham- Jones passed away from Long term Covid. She is extremely missed by her daughter, husband, brother , and family. We try our best to continue on. We try our best to continue her dream and legacy through Dappers Game Zone Atlanta.
